Replit Subscription Overview & Billing Traps

Comprehensive guide to Replit Core ($20-$25/mo), Usage-Based Billing thresholds, running deployment charges, and 30-day refund policies.

Replit combines cloud IDE capabilities with AI agents. It offers a Starter tier alongside Replit Core ($20/mo billed annually or $25/mo monthly) and Teams plans. In addition to base subscriptions, Replit leverages Usage-Based Billing (UBB) for autonomous Replit Agent runs, external model tokens, PostgreSQL databases, and cloud deployments.

Quick Guides

3 Critical Billing Traps to Watch Out For

1. Post-Cancellation 'Delayed Invoice' Charge

Replit accumulates usage-based fees (such as Replit Agent compute, AI prompts, and database hours) until reaching an invoice threshold (typically $50) rather than charging instantly. When you cancel your Core subscription, Replit immediately triggers a final invoice for all unbilled usage incurred prior to cancellation. This is often mistaken for an unauthorized renewal.

2. Canceling Core Does Not Stop Deployments

Canceling Replit Core does not shut down your published Autoscale apps, Reserved VMs, or PostgreSQL instances. As long as these cloud services remain live, they continue to bill your attached payment card for traffic, compute, and persistent disk usage.

3. The Agent Compute Non-Refundable Rule

Under the Replit Terms of Service, full refunds are permitted for recurring subscription fees within 30 days of purchase. However, all Usage-Based Billing (UBB) charges for Replit Agent runs and AI tokens are strictly non-refundable, as they represent compute resources already delivered.
