Midjourney Subscription Overview & Billing Traps
Comprehensive overview of Midjourney tiers (Basic $10, Standard $30, Pro $60, Mega $120), GPU usage thresholds, and auto-refund triggers.
Midjourney operates four primary subscription tiers: Basic ($10/mo), Standard ($30/mo), Pro ($60/mo), and Mega ($120/mo). Plans provide monthly pools of Fast GPU hours along with optional Relax GPU generations on higher tiers. Because Midjourney integrates Discord OAuth with Stripe, management requires authenticating via their web portal.

3 Critical Billing Traps to Watch Out For
1. Leaving Discord ≠ Subscription Cancellation
Leaving the Midjourney Discord server, deleting Discord direct messages with the bot, or revoking OAuth permissions does not terminate recurring Stripe payments. Cancellation must be completed directly at midjourney.com/account.
2. The Strict 1% Fast GPU Auto-Refund Ceiling
Midjourney offers a rare automated self-serve refund option, but only if total Fast GPU consumption in the current cycle is less than 1% (roughly 9 to 20 minutes of GPU processing). If you run even 2 to 3 image generation prompts, the automated refund button disappears and you can only schedule a cancellation for cycle-end.
3. Top-Up Fast Hours Expiration
Purchased extra Fast GPU hours do not expire at cycle renewal, but they do not prevent your base recurring monthly charge from processing.
